The Oxford Community Association "Makeover" funding campaign is now underway! ...

Oxford Community Association's current president, Charlene Jones is honoring our past president for 40 years, Mary Morris, who wanted this building to provide the necessary needs to accommodate the wellness of the community upon any event held to empower the people who wanted a beautiful environment in which to live. Today we are requesting the support of the community far and near to assist with the vision of having an association that works in the interest of what is needed to service the concerns of the families, churches and businesses. The importance of this makeover is to update the building with two handicap accessible restrooms, kitchen  facelift, and enlarged meeting space.  The voices for the changes our community face each day have been an ongoing challenge.

The makeover will allow the association to utilize the building for job fairs, youth recognition, health fairs,  craft events, family events.  Whatever brings a community out for support promotes neighbors caring for neighbors.  The doors will be open for other neighbor associations.  This building is the only association building in the city of Fort Wayne, Indiana that is owned by the people in the community.  The crime rate in this community is such that a neighbor association is needed to assisted with unity in the community and help save lives.

CONCERN: Too many vehicles are being stolen from in front of gas stations and other places of business because they were left running while the driver was inside the business. If you exit your vehicle to enter any business, please turn the vehicle off, lock the doors and take your keys with you. This will help to prevent theft while you are away from your vehicle.

Also a good idea... never leave valuables in your vehicle where they can be seen by potential thieves.
